Tempestby Julie Cross
Hardcover, 352 pages
Expected publication:
January 3rd, 2012
by St. Martin’s Griffin
The year is 2009. Nineteen-year-old Jackson Meyer is a normal guy… he’s in college, has a girlfriend… and he can travel back through time. But it’s not like the movies – nothing changes in the present after his jumps, there’s no space-time continuum issues or broken flux capacitors – it’s just harmless fun.
That is… until the day strangers burst in on Jackson and his girlfriend, Holly, and during a struggle with Jackson, Holly is fatally shot. In his panic, Jackson jumps back two years to 2007, but this is not like his previous time jumps. Now he’s stuck in 2007 and can’t get back to the future.
Desperate to somehow return to 2009 to save Holly but unable to return to his rightful year, Jackson settles into 2007 and learns what he can about his abilities.
But it’s not long before the people who shot Holly in 2009 come looking for Jackson in the past, and these “Enemies of Time” will stop at nothing to recruit this powerful young time-traveler. Recruit… or kill him.
Piecing together the clues about his father, the Enemies of Time, and himself, Jackson must decide how far he’s willing to go to save Holly… and possibly the entire world.

When I opened my eyes again, Adam was standing over me. “Jackson?”
“Dude, you need a breath mint,” I mumbled, shoving him to the side.Find Tempest and Julie Cross online: Website / Twitter / Amazon / Barnes & Noble / Goodreads

I think option number 1. Cameron Monaghan, when I look at Jake, I see the little kid from disney, but Cameron seems older and mature enough to play a college student
ReplyDeleteI like option 1. I can't say why for sure, maybe he just looks more mature.
ReplyDeleteI have to say agree with the others and say I like option 1, he does look more mature for some reason.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Tempest, but I think I am going to pick 2. This decision is based completely on being a fan of Wizards of Waverly Place.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely option 1.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this book yet but it sounds great. Time travel books are pretty awesome if you ask me!
I think I like #1 best, too. It's so fun to picture the actors playing the characters from the book. I can't wait for this movie!
ReplyDelete#1 is my favorite. I think it's the eyes :)
ReplyDeleteI think #2...just because I know him better..
ReplyDeletethanks!

I like Cameron Monaghan, option 1 better. The second one looks too youngish. :)
ReplyDeleteEven though I picked number 2...I live your pick for number 1! I'm completely torn! Great post and thanks so much for being a part of the TEMPEST blog tour :)
ReplyDeleteI think Cameron is great on Shameless but I can;t see him in another role.
ReplyDeleteTough call I think I would pick #1...Thanks for the excerpt and tour!

I think part of why #1 is being picked is b/c in that picture he looks smart and intelligent -- he's got the Andrew Garfield in The Social Network thing going on. #2 looks too cool guy in that pic - with a more serious look he would fit. I keep picturing a young Christopher Gorham, from back when he was in "Perfect".
ReplyDeleteSince I haven't heard of Cameron, Jake. Yet, I think Jake would have a hard time playing the role because he's done a funny character most of his life and I dont' think he could do a role like Jackson. But then again, Jackson is only 19. :D
ReplyDeleteAhh I've been dying to read this one :) I haven't read Tempest yet but I'd go with Cameron :)
ReplyDeleteNeed to read this book!!!
ReplyDeleteI really want to read this!
ReplyDeleteI actually would like someone who looks a little more manly or older I guess, but that may be because I'm getting older. ;)

Cameron Monaghan he looks mature and like he could play the part well. I've seen J.T. Austin in 2 different movies, and I am not a fan at all.
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love time travel. Be it the Time Travelers Wife,
ReplyDeletethe best book ever, or the Man Who Folded Himself, the first time
traveler book I recall reading, I love them all. Can not wait to read this one!
Zooey Deschanel would be great as Holly.
Cameron Monaghan definitely has the look.
I'm very excited about this one. I've heard some great things and it sound fabulous. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read Tempest. I LOVE anything that has to do with time travel.I've seen Jake on Wizards of Waverly Place and he's a great actor. Thanks for the giveaway!

I think option #2, he seems more Adam like to me, although, I do picture Adam wearing glasses. Thanks for the tour and the giveaway!

They're both so young-looking! Maybe I'm just so old now :P. I say Option #1: Cameron Monaghan.
ReplyDeleteI loved reading Tempest and posted a view back in Oct., but would LOVE a signed copy sooooo very much! I read an older ARC version off of Netgalley and so only had it for a short amount of time. *keeps fingers crossed* option 1 definitely, i don't think jake austin "looks" the part of adam
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!

I really don't know who I'd pick because sadly, I haven't read it yet. I need to know the character before I'd be able to cast him. However, I know of Jake T. Austin more than the first guy so if I had to pick, it'd be him. thanks for reminding me of an awesome book that I've neglected to read. I better get to it! :D
ReplyDeletei think Jake T. Austin seems too young to play Adam... i don't know! he just has a young face. O_o i do like Cameron for it. He just looks like Adam...
ReplyDeleteI'd have to pick Jake, only because I know him from Disney Channel, haha.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read it yet, so I don't know who I'd choose. I can't wait to read it though, it looks really good!
ReplyDelete-Melissa
I have not read it yet I would say number two Jake!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read this book thanks again fun blog tour!
